Tuesday Ladies afternoon bowls was very well attended and great games were played by all. Winners for the day with the highest winning margin were Doreen Whitehouse, Marie Welsh and Elaine Hadlow defeating Netta Smith, Mae Secomb and Jean Paterson 32 - 15. Other games Debbie McLean, Brenda Griffiths and Judi Wright defeated Mabel Davy, Meryl Chard and Alison Holmes 20 - 18. Caitlin Gazzara, Noela Whitehead and Margo Stanley defeated Faye Garland, Doreen Peadon and Jo Howes 19 - 13.
Next Tuesday is our Ladies One Day Carnival, please make every effort to put yourself in a team, see Games Controller Elaine Hadlow. Games commence at 9.30am, basket lunch, raffles, cent sale etc, we should have a lovely day.
Men's afternoon on Wednesday finally saw the jackpot won by Lloyd Whitehead, Tom Lanham and Peter Hinschen who also won the day with the highest winning score defeating Keith Dunn, Victor Migliorini and Ron Spence 27 - 11. Other games Herb Secomb and Bryan Mayson defeated Steve Tattam and David Pirie 23 - 19, Richard Whitehouse and Col Howes defeated John Fornasiero and Robert Orr 25 - 16.
Friday Night Barefoot bowls saw a lively crowd and a great time was had by all. Visitors from other countries who have not played bowls before thought it was a blast, so if you have nothing on this Friday, come and give bowls a go, you will not be sorry. Cost is $12 for bowls hire, game and sausage sizzle. Ring and put your names down to 49467656.
Sunday afternoon Social bowls sponsored by Retravision was just wonderful, the green was perfect and members and visitors alike had a great day. Thanks to Marcus and Nicole Craig for their support again this year. Winners for the day with 1 for and end and 3 for a win were: Debbie McLean, David Stock and Eric Bottle defeating Jim Keighery, Victor Migliorini and Brenda Griffiths 18 - 6. Runners up were Lloyd Whitehead, Doreen Peadon and Sandy Barrile defeating Richard Whitehouse, Paul Osborne and Elaine Hadlow 17 - 7. Betty Stock, Ron Spence and Mae Secomb defeated Mabel Davy, Eddie Monroe and Col Howes 15 - 8, Keith Dunn, Tom Lanham and Robert Orr defeated Joanne Peasley, Eileen Halliday and Judi Wright 16 - 8. Netta Smith, Noela Whitehead and Jo Howes defeated Doreen Whitehouse, Herb Secomb and Margo Stanley 14 - 10.
Our Progressive Dinner will be held on Saturday 24th October, this is a wonderful evening and is a fundraiser for the club, so get your friends together for a good time. Tickets are available at the club or from Margo Stanley 49480444.
Melbourne Cup luncheon tickets are also available at $25 each.

Last Tuesday we played the last game of our Pennant at Seaforth unfortunately losing both games. It has not been the most successful year for our club, but we will hopefully bounce back in 2010. Thank you to all the ladies who participated in the Pennant this year.
Tuesday afternoon saw only a small number of ladies bowling as the majority of us were in Seaforth, but those who attended had a pleasant afternoon. Tuesday evening bowls continues to improve; anyone wishing to play should contact Sandra Argo on 49482790, names in by 6.00pm games start at 6.30pm.
Members and visitors are most welcome. The winner for the night was James Argo defeating Paul Osborne.
Wednesday afternoon the men had a comfortable group of players with the winners being Lloyd Whitehouse, David Stock and Buddy Holmes defeating Wally Gray, Keith Beetham and Ted Evans 33 - 10.
The jackpot was still not won so grows in value for this week.
Friday Night Barefoot Bowls had a good crowd of players all enjoying the perfect weather and conditions for bowling.
New Social Memberships are now available for $10 should you be keen to be part of our very happy and sociable club.
Sunday afternoon Social bowls had a wonderful group of 30 players; winners for the afternoon on the highest winning score were Victor Migliorini, Keith Beetham and Elaine Hadlow defeating Betty Stock, Noela Whitehead and Col Howes 28 - 17.
Other games were Pam Moulang, Meryl Chard and Domonic Sposato defeating Sandra Argo, David Stock and Paul Osborne 23 - 21. Netta Smith, Lloyd Whitehead and Margo Stanley defeating Brian Ward, Judy Bartlett and Ron Ward 27 - 21. Margaret Heaney, Jeff Bartlett and Ron Spence defeating Keith Dunn, Doreen Whitehouse and Jo Howes 25 - 14, Jenny Ryder, James Argo and Mabel Davy defeating Howard Moulang, Doreen Peadon and Richard Whitehouse 16 - 15.
Our Ladies Presidents at Home day will be held on Tuesday 7th July, any member or visitor who wishes to play or come along for the lunch, please contact Margo Stanley on 49480444 or Elaine Hadlow 49451392. It is the biggest day of the year for the ladies so don't miss out.
