Those where the days!

Last week I might have gone a bit far by saying we all have pleasant memories of our mothers roast dinners. One poor soul replied to my email and informed me that he could only remember his mother giving him bread and dripping on Sundays. Maybe he became accustomed to the taste because he never came to the club to see what a real roast dinner is all about. I remember the bread and dripping too but I also remember mum's roast dinners.

If you want to re-live those times and savoir those tastes again (not the bread and dripping), the closest you will get to it is at the Airlie Beach Bowls Club WHITEHAVEN ROOM.

If you haven't already sampled the WHITEHAVEN ROOM ROAST DINNER, this coming Sunday is your chance. The brochure gives details of your choice of either roast Pork and apple sauce or roast chicken, served with roast vegetables and green beans; afterwards delight in a delicious Pavlova with fruit and cream.

Kitchen is serving from 5.30 to 7.00 PM (I advise you to be early rather than late).

Hope to see you there.

Regards,

Paul Osborne,

Treasurer, Airlie Beach Bowls Club Inc.,
